Jeff Van Gyssel is the owner of Just Working Construction, a faith-driven company. He hires newcomers to Canada to help them feel loved and hopeful while they struggle to adapt to their new home. He has partnered with many not-for-profits and charities providing affordable housing. Jeff’s faith has brought him from a life of drugs, alcohol, depression and loneliness to a journey of healing, gratitude to God and hope. Jeff’s life mission is to love his neighbour in words and actions by building communities where everyone feels they belong.
Jeff is one of the original founders of LYNC. It was his vision and passion that drove the Mill Block Community to grow from an idea and dream to reality. Jeff served as both a community champion and Board member from the start of LYNC until November 2023 when he launched “Just Homes” an initiative of Just Working Construction. Just Homes addresses the pressing issue of housing, employment and community for new immigrants in Canada. Jeff generously provided his construction expertise, experience with historic properties and green builds and his leadership to LYNC during its formation.
