Personal Information will be maintained in as accurate, complete and up-to-date form as is necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it is to be used

Donor and member information such as contact information (e.g., name, address, phone number, e-mail address) and information about donor/member history (e.g., history of giving;). A list of donors is published annually and donors may remain anonymous if they wish. Personal Information may include your payment information, such as credit card number and expiration date, which we collect if you wish to donate through the Website using a credit card. When personal information (such as a credit card number) is transmitted to other websites, it is protected through the use of encryption, such as the Secure Socket Layer (SSL) protocol

Volunteer information (e.g., name, address, phone number, e-mail address) and information regarding volunteer preferences such as times available areas of interest.

Browsing activity and electronic network activity information such as IP addresses, page viewed on our website or language preferences. We generally collect this information when you visit our website using cookies or similar technologies. A cookie is a small computer file or piece of information that may be stored in your computer’s hard drive when you visit our websites so that information can be saved on your computer or mobile device when you visit a website for convenience.   • To communicate with you regarding your donation, membership or volunteer role
  • To publish a list of donors annually. Donors may remain anonymous if they wish
  • To create charitable donation receipts. Certain information must be included on receipts as required by Canadian law.

  • To update you on charitable projects via a newsletter or special announcement

It is our policy to only collect, use and disclose personal information about you with your knowledge and consent. Prior to collecting personal information it is our policy to identify the purposes. With your consent, we may collect personal information from you in person, over the telephone or by corresponding with you via mail, facsimile, or the Internet. LYNC does not trade or sell any of its donor or volunteer information.

Personal information will be protected by security safeguards that are appropriate to the sensitivity level of the information. We take all reasonable precautions to protect your personal information from any loss or unauthorized use, access or disclosure. Including:

  • Limiting the collection, use and disclosure of personal information to that reasonably required to carry on our business
  • Ensuring that data and documents are only accessible by authorized personnel on a need-to-know basis
  • Requiring all employees, board members and volunteers to sign a confidentiality agreement
  • Protecting the confidential nature of personal information when dealing with other organizations and requiring them to meet the same standards as we do in handling personal information.
  • When personal information (such as a credit card number) is transmitted to other websites, it is protected through the use of encryption, such as the Secure Socket Layer (SSL) protocol

Note: Our website may contain links to other third party sites that are not governed by this privacy policy. Although we endeavour to only link to sites with high privacy standards, our privacy policy will no longer apply once you leave our website. Additionally, we are not responsible for the privacy practices employed by third party websites.
